THE DIOMEDE RETURNS
UNEVENTFUL CRUISE
(By Telegraph.—Press Assocktton)
AUCKLAND, August 10. With a band playing and a guard of Eoyal Marines mounted on the quarter deck, the Diomedo, commanded by Captain Cosmo Graham, returned to Auckland today, after a six weeks' cruise to the islands of the Western Pacific. The trip was mainly uneventful, although several out-of-the-way islands were visited.. •
Owing to the fact that tho cruiser's departure from Auckland was delayed by a defect hi her port propeller tailshaft, tho itinerary for tho cruise had to bo curtailed to some extent. The ports visited by tho Diomede wero Norfolk Island, Vila in the New Hebrides, Hog Harbour, Funafuti, Eotumah, Suva, Nukualofa.
• "CHILDREN, TAKE YOXJK 'BAXTEB'S'." A Jtedcliffs resident vouches for tho following: A little girl canie home from school and told her mother that all the girls at her school who had colds took a bottle of Baxter's Lung Preserver with them, an<£ when they coughed the teacher said, "Children, take a dose of your 'Baxters. Then followed a request for a bottle of "Baxter's" so that sho could be like the other girls. There is no need to suspect childlike exaggeration in this particular child's caso, as Baxter's Lung- Preserver is the obvious thing to relieve a cough. "Baxter's" is a favourite with old and young and. is of particular value to children as they find it so pleasant to take, and because such prompt relief is given. A bottle of "Baxter's" should always bo kept by the bedside where there is a prospect of coughing in the night. / "Baxter's" tonic properties accelerate prompt recovery after the other valuable ingredients have dispelled the cold or attack of 'flu. All chemists and stores sell "Baxter's" in 4s 6d, 2s 6d, and Is 6d bottles.—Advt,
