The congregation of St. Andrew's Church, Carterton, decided last night to extend a call to the Bey. Ralph Byers, M.A., of Tiniaru, states a Press Association message from Mastorton.
The Bey. T. Fieldcn Taylor, city, rnissioner, loaves on Friday for Christchurch to attend the anniversary celebrations of the Canterbury Infantry, Battalion. Ho will preach at the special servieo in th&-Christehurch Cathedral on Sunday.
Mr. J. B. Wright, of London, European manager for Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., arrived at Auckland by thu Aorangi yesterday. After a fortnight in Auckland he will go to Australia. Ho is accompanied by Mrs. Wright and two daughters.
Mr. E. H. do J. Clero, who lias been oh a tour to the East, was welcomed, back last evening by the executive committee of the Wellington Automobile Association.
Mr. E. Palliser has been nominated to represent the Wellington Automobile Association on the executive of tha North Island Motor Union.
Councillors W. H. Bennett and T. Brindle were, last night appointed representatives of the Wellington City Council and the Makara County Council upon the Wellington Technical College Board of Governors.
Mr. E. A. Batt (chairman), aud Dr. Graham Bobcrtson and Messrs. A. J. Curtis, E. Palliser, and H. W. Shortr, members of the- executive committee of the Wellington Automobile Association, have been appointed delegates to the annual meeting of the North Island Motor Union, to bo held at Napier on August 10.
