THREE MEN HURT

Three,motor accidents involving injury occurred-in Wellington between 3 p.m. aud 7 p.m. on. Saturday. J. Brown, of 149 Tho Terrace, was riding a motor-cyclo and side-car at.the intersection ■of Featherston Street aud Ballanco Street at about 3.10 p.m. when ho collided with u light truck and both vehicles ran on to the footpath with enough force to damage the marble steps of tho Dominion Farmers' 'Institute building. Mr. Brown, who was the only person hurt, suffered a compound' frnc.ture of tho right log, injuries to his back, and shock. The Free Ambulance took him to hospital. At about 3.25 p.m. a delivery van driven, by J. Logan, of Helen Street, Brooklyn, skidded and on tho Hutt Road, about a mile north of Ngahaurai?ga. . The driver of a Free Ambulanco car which was passing at the time of the accident attended to Mr. Logan, who had a lacerated wound on his right hand, and conveyed to the hospital a passenger in tho van, W. Knox, of 13 Turnbull Street, whose loft collarbone was fractured. A Hastings farmer, E. L. Sutra, was driving a car along Thorndon Quay just after 6.30 p.m. when ho camo into head-on collision with a train going in the opposite direction. Tho Free Ambulanco .took Mr. Sutra to the Lister Hospital, with severe incised wounds to his head and face caused by tho glass from tho wi-dscreon. Tho impact wrecked tho front of the motor-car, but tho tram-was only slightly damaged.
