"Evening :rost"> Plioto NEW PLANT AT CITY MILK STATION.— The Milk Department is now completing the installation of a new milk-treatment plant which is a great advance'on the present pasteurising equipment at the station, or, indeed, in New Zealand or Australia! This-one machine takes charge of all processes essential for correct pasteurisation, and time and thermostatic controls ensure exact treatment of every gallon of milk. Stainless steel is used wherever milk touches metal, facilitating scrupulous cleanliness. On tlieleft the. machine is closed as for operation; on the right the enclosing panels are opened back and the racks in which the milk is cooled after pasteurisation are shown swung out for inspection. Steam and boiling water attend to complete sterilisation. A descriptive article appears in this issue.
