"MASKED MAEVEL"
BOUT FOR AMBROSE PALMER
It is rumoured that one of the attractions to be offered visitors to Melbourne during the Centenary celebrations will be a bout- between Ambrose Palmer, heavyweight boxing champion of Australia, and an unknown boxer who is being trained in • ecret. A somewhat sceptical, view of the matter is taken by: the Sydney "Kef eree," which points out that "Masked Marvels" mean nothing to the general public nowadays unless they have done something to demand attention.
The syndicate working on She project is reported to,have drawn up a plan which involves the defeat by the unknown of Peitro Spagnola, at Brisbane, and of Son Tealey, after which the stage will be all set for the Palmer bout. "The Kef eree" ; comments that if the unknown can come from obscurity and defeat Australia's 'three leading heavyweights in a row he will not only accomplish a' million-to-one feat, but will .end his fistic career as wealthy as Jack Deinpsey.
