TROTTING CUP CLASS
Horses who are on the fringe ot the Now Zealand Trotting Cup limit will have cbapces to qualify both at Addington and Epsom next month. Canterbury has a good number, of horses •'at present on 4.27, including Indianapolis, Blue Mountain, Silver de Oro, Gold Tinge, Ayrmont Chimes, and Kingcraft, who has, been reassessed on that line. As it will be impossible for all these mentioned'to succeed at Addington, the disappointed ones .may. go up to , Epsom. Auto Machine, who has .also' been let up from 4.26 to 4.27 in the new assessment, and Kewpie's Triumph, First Flight, and Peter Pirate, who are on the same line, will likewise have an opportunity of qualifying at Epsom^ Pegaway, who.' has already gone south, is on 4.28, thus 'requiring two wins before he can reach the New Zealand Cup class. The successful two-year-old Dismiss lias been doing well during the winter,-"and over short courses should prove more than nsctul at the spring meetings, says a Dunedin writer. In the, meantime he is being allotted useful exercise lo keep him in good shape for tuning up.
