THE DUNEDIN POSITION

The position in Wellington is that moetings have been held by the Seamen's Union and the Cooks and Stewards' Union, and it is understood that at both meetings tho matter discussed was that'of wages, but nothing has been made available for publication. Local inquiries made regarding the position in Dunedin today resulted in unofficial statements that tho hold-up of. shipping there yesterday was due to the'holding of- a seamen's stop-work meeting which lasted longer than was anticipated, and that the stoppage had no other'significance. It was anticipated by "The Post's" informant that the position would soon be normal.
