ESPERANTO CLUB

The weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club was held last night in the V.M.C.A. Mr. Vernon Leek presided. It was announced that a new class of beginners would commence next Tuesday, and that a special teacher would be appointed to take the students through the course, the series of lessons to terminate prior to the Chrismas holidays. Correspondence was received from several countries in Europe and South America. The club proceeded to classes, and satisfactory progress was reported. In the second half of the evening Mr. William H. King, secretary of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, gave a talk in Esperanto on "Esperanto, La Lingvo de Komerco," and referred to the increasing use being made of Esperanto in the commercial world. Mr. King produced several beautiful folders in Esperanto issued by tourist organisations in. Austria, Jugoslavia, Hungary, and Spain, all of which had. arrived recently. Another folder which had just arrived advertised in Esperanto the attractions of the forthcoming Brazilian Exhibition to take place in Rio de Janeiro. Mr. William L. Edmansou, F.8.E.A., addressed the .members in Esperanto on "La Psikologio de Nerva Malsano."
