THE ELLIOT PLAN
MEAT RESTRICTIONS
PATE OF ENFORCEMENT
BASIS OF OTTAWA FIGURE'
NEW ZEALAND MOST AFFECTED
United Press Associatlon^By Electric Tel»' Brgph—Copyright. (Received July 24, 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 23. It is at present intended to en> force Major Elliot's meat restrictions in September. A departmental committee is preparing shipping schedules allocating the Dominions', and Argentine exports.
The "Sun-Herald" representative understands that these are based approximately on Ottawa figures. Accordingly Australia is unlikely to have hers share drastically curtailed, because her exports have not greatly exceeded the Ottawa figures. However, New Zealand exports have been enormously in excess, particularly in respect of mutton- and lamb, and it is expected that New Zealand will be the principal Dominion sufferer- by Mr. Elliot's restrictions of exports. In some cases they may be halved.
