NOVEL IDEAS
AUSTRIAN EXHIBITION
The novel ideas displayed at the Aiistiian Exhibition recently show that ingenuity in devising fashion etceteras is ever internationally competitive, states an English writer. In a" short tour of the exhibition one noticed that bedroom slippers were made in floral silk with designs to match nightgowns, and that nightgowns, were made j n f 0 two-pieco garments with the addition of that new departure in lingerie, the nightgown cape. A handbag delicately embroidered in petit point took five people three months to make, and it had 3GOO stitches in it 'o the square inch.
A convertible bracelet which can bo made into a necklace (and the colour scheme changed in a 'twinkling to match one's frock by just turning a screw) is also out of the ordinary. Another unusual and very useful idea will appeal to women i who go in for sport'' and dancing. It looks exactly like a small wristwatch. Everything that the smart woman can possible want for beauty renovations is hidden somewhere, even to a holder for perfume. The device is completely waterproof, dust and heat proof, and the swimmer can carry: her make-up box around her arm.
