BURGLARS IN PALMERSTON

During last weekend attempts were made to enter 'business premises in Palmerston North, but in all three eases the would-be burglars were iinsuccess' fui.- ■- ■-■■.- ' ;. ■ In the case of Birch and Son, bakers and.pastrycooks, of Cuba Street, the glass of the front door was broken, but the lock frustrated the intruders..Marks Were left on the- door, states the "Manawatu Times." . J. P.' Nielsen's dyeworks, in Main Street Bast, were also visited. Marks were left" on the door of the Manawatu Machinery Exchange , Co. in Eangitikei Street, but in- this case also no .entrance was obtained. , • "While entertaining visitors on Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. G. N. Eabone, of Featherstone Street, were robbed of £.8 in cash which was taken from two rooms. Footprints were left on a window-sill.
