Line Two motoiyships of 9000 tons gross each to be named the Eabaul and She Solamau have been purchased,, and the EaS is expected ,to make the inaugural voyage to Sydney in October. S W. 3: | Carpenter and Co. formerly carried on an export business {rom Australia by means of chartered ships The route of the new service will bo from Sydney and Brisbane, via New Guinea and Batavia, to London and Contin- 1 cmtal ports. Wool and lead will- be loaded at Brisbane and copra will be taken from New Guinea and the'surrounding islands. Each of the new ships is to bo fitted with limited accommodation for passengers. The service will operate five voyages a year and the snips will be manned entirely by white crews. ■ . •
