Johusonville, meeting • Onslow, experienced no difficulty in securing their biggest win of the season on Saturday. The Johnsonville ground was' very wet' and slippery., but the local forwards rose to the occasion in great style,' and repeatedly assaulted the Onslow- line in magnificent dribbling rushes. Added to this, Welsh,.the second five-eighth, proved himself an outstanding wet weather player, time after time breaking through with the ball, at.toe;- It was'an interesting game throughout, with the play confined to Onslow territory for the most part. The slippery conditions largely accounted for the fact that none of the seven tries* scored was. converted.

Welsh then broke through, but Kelly knocked on right by-the p_osts. irrom the resulting scrum, the' ball was sent to Gilbert, who booted towards the corner. The ball went over the line, and Kelly coming up speedily scored an easy try. Then from loose play at the twenty-five line, Smith passed to Welsh, who sent in-field to Chancy. He at once returned to Welsh, who dashed across to score hi the corner. Immediately Welsh broke away with the ball at toe, Treuchai'd ' carrying on, and with Cathcart beating the defence, for Cathcart to score again. This made the scores 12-0 at half-time. Chick, C'athcnvt, and Chancy each scored a try in the second spoil, making the score Johnsonville 21, Onslow 0. Mr. K. Paton referecd.
