TREATMENT OF STALE GROUND
It often happens thaj; some of the fowlruns gat stale and need refreshing. If the grass has got tussoeky, and the birds have scratched out hollows, tho run should bo ploughed or dug over and sown down in now grass. Be'forc1 digging, top-dress with a liberal allowance of burnt lime. Tho fowls shonld not be allowed on the new grass for at least six: months, since they would soon scratch it out, but it should be grazed close by sheep or a horse.
