'. Tho new fence on the seaward side of the. Eastbourne Eecroation Ground has bo en completed, and has resulted in a big improvement. Tho fence came out in places, over : tho old concrete wall, and a boulder wall was built and filling-in was done so as to ensure the fence being uniform. The fence was built by contract, and borough employees did tho work in connection with the boulder wall. Pohutukawa "trees havo been planted alongside' the fence arid as these trees grow lip; some- of the unsightly pines will bo' removed. Eastbourne will have a funsized Eugby ground next season. It is: proposed to leave the playing field at its present : dimensions for tho remainder of this season. A charge can now bo inado for admittance to the ground, as the fence will keep out unauthorised persons. 'The. fence will servo as a protection to picnic parties against the wind. ;
