RELIGIOUS SERVICES. 10.01. HALL, ALLEN STREET (Opposite Paramount, Co.urtenay Place), THE NINTH LECTURE Of the Series on ' ■ | "THE RETURN OF CHRIST TO EARTH," Will be delivered (God Willing) in the above Hall on SUNDAY, at 7 p.m. Subject: "ARMAGEDDON " "HE GATHERED THEM TOGETHER INTO A PLACE CALLED IN THE HEBREW TONGUE ARMAGEDDON." (Rev. 16:16.) ' : ' . . In the course of this Sunday's lecture evidence will be produced from the Scriptures to show—» (1) THAT '"the place" "Armageddon" is a "place" in the plain of Esdraelon in Palestine 60- miles north of Jerusalem. (Rev. 16:16, Josh. 17:11, Judges 5:19, 1 Kings 4:12. 2 Kings 23-29, 2 Chr. 35:22, Zeeh. 12:11, etc.) . (2) THAT when Christ returns to earth . and re-establishes David's throne in . Jerusalem and is "dwelling in Ziou" (Joel 3:17) the Nations (political and ecclesiastical),,disbelieving that Christ has returned and failing to recognise His true identity, will confederate under-;the leadership of ' "THE BEAST" to "make war against Christ and against His arm}'" (the saints). (Rev. 17:12-14, Rev. 19--.19, Dan. 8:25, Psa. 2:1-9.) (3) THAT in" an attempt to dethrone Christ the.nations will invade Palestine but will not be permitted to advance beyond the plain of Esdraelon — ' ARMAGEDDON—which forms the natural defence's of- Jerusalem. (Rev. 16:16, Joel 3:9-14.) . . , (4) THAT then, when "the beast" and the kings of the earth, and their armies are .gathered together" (Rev. 19:10) to Armageddon (Rev. 16:16) Christ will "ROAR OUT OF ZION" and "utter 'His voice FROM JERUSALEM" (Joel 3:16) to the utter discomfiture and complete destruction of the assembled hosts at ARMAGEDDON. (Isa. 29:7-8, Rev. 17:14, Rev. 19:19-21, Rev. 19:19, Eze. 39:17-22, Jer. 25:30-33, , Zeph. 3:S, etc.) (5) THAT Armageddon will be but the opening campaign of "the war of that great day, of God Almighty" (Rev. 16: 14, R.V.) —"the hour of God's judgment" (Rev. 14:7)— during which Christ and the Saints by "the execution of the judgment written" (Psa. 149:5-9) will'cause "the inhabitants of the world to'learn righteousness" (Isa. 26:9), thereby preparing the way for the establishment o£; the universal Kingdom of -God upon' earth. (Hag. 2:7,' Isa. 2:10-21, Isa. 66:15-16, Jer. • J0;10, Jer. 30:23-24, Mai. 4:1-3, 2 Thess. - 1:7-0, Jude 14:15, Rev. 11:18, Rev. 2:26-27. Rev. 19:15, Acts 17:31, Phil. : 2:9-11.
