BRILLIANT WEATHER

SATURDAY AT TRENTHAM

SPRING-LIKE FROCKING

The -weather hacl not been unpleasant for the first-two days of the Wellington Kaeing Club's Winter Meeting, but on Saturday it really surpassed itself for this time of year. Trentham waff, bathed in brilliant sunshine all day, and there was hardly a trace of chill in the- air. All day- there were crowas of people on the sunny, lawns, ana many seemed to prefer watching the races from the rails'to the stands.-: The froeking on Saturday was much more spring-like- than on the two previous days. Coats were shed to show attractive frocks and lighter suits, and brighter colours were in evidence. Blues seemed to be the most popular colour, and bright greens, reels, and a becoming shade of mustard yellow were also/to bo seen, -Fur collars or epaulettes lent an interesting note to many ot the frocks, and all manner of sleeves were featured. The ■ "log of mutton" sleeve seems to have given place to all sorts, of tucks and rolls and pleats at the shoulder. Hats for the most part were small, and some of the new stiffened eye-veils were worn and looked very charming.
