It is proposed by the London headquarters of the Royal Life-saving Society to send the general seeretarv, Mr. Sydney J. Monks; to New 'Zealand, about the end of. January, 1935. -Thetour is estimated, to take about six weeks, during Which time Mr. Monks will visit all the main towns in New Zealand, ■ as/well as the New Zealand swimming and surf championships, -with the object of gaining an insight into the work being.carried out in/.the various centres of the. society in New: Zea-' land..:.. The funeral of "the late-' Mr ; Charted Hinds, M.M., 39533, >■ N.Z.8.F.,-'-.- took place at the Soldiers' Cemetery; Karori, on Saturday afternoon, and was largely attended by -relatives and friends. Among those present were Mr. E. P. Norman (representing the Mayor) j Mr. E. A. Wright, M.P./Might.-Lieut. Denton (representing" the G^O.C), Mr. E. Kupli (representing the Pensions Department), and Mr: Kelly (representing the E.S.A.). The service was cbndueted by the Rev. Father" Kelly.
