LONDON, July 10.

Shipping under construction in Britain at June 30 was 557,142 tons, which is 104 per cent, above that at June 30 last.year according to Lloyd's returns.

Tonnage under construction throughout the 'rest of the world was 629,198, the highest quarterly total since September, 1932. Tonnage under construction in the leading foreign shipbuilding countries is:—Japan, 137,280; France, 104,500; Germany, 91,145. Tho world tonnage of motor-ships is 692,035, and oil tankers 277,844.
