SUBSIDY AND QUOTA LEFT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 10. The "Daily Express's" political correspondent says that the Argentine Government has rejected llie British proposal of a levy on meat imports. This destroys the scheme. It is understood that Cabinet will recommend, a subsidy from the Treasury to guarantee a price for Homeproduced beef pending the expiry of the Argentine agreement. Cabinet will also decide the extent of the. reductions in imports from the Dominions and Argentina. ;: [ The "Daily Herald" states that Mr. W, Elliot, Minister of Agriculture, has informed Argentina that its refusal to accept the levy will lead to a heavier imposition after the expiry of the agreement in 1936.
