lONIC DELAYED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day. The steamer lonic, which had loaded th<e Auckland portion of her cargo and was to havo left at 5 p.m. yesterday for Opua, did not sail because of the absence of two of her stokehold crew, and their unwillingness, when found to raiso steam. Tho consequence was that tho ship missed the morning's tide at Opua and permission had to be sought from the Meat Board to omit the call at Opua and go direct to Gisborno.
