LONDON, July 9.
The Koine correspondent of "The Times" says that an unqualified denial is given to a suggestion that Italy's proposed 35,000-ton battleships arc-any-wise connected "with the 1935 Naval Conference. They are merely a liquidation of the past. ■ :
- Italy is only following British precedent. Italy does not demand parity with France 1 -cause she already possesses it juridically^ It is considered that Italy's unfavourable strategic position and the necessity of bringing 8 per cent, of her imports through Gibraltar justify her claim. .
