FOOD PRICES ADVANCE
PLANS FOR RATIONING
LONDON, July 9. The " Daily Herald's " special correspondent says that Heir Hitler' is facing a threat of famine throughout Germany. Plans'for food rationing are being feverishly completed. Government presses aTO working at high pressure to turn out food tickets and millions of cards are waiting orders for distribution. Food prices are advancing' at an alarming rate and wages are steadily coming down. Margarine is 20d per pound, Cheddar cheese 18d, and fruit and sugar twico the prico it was last year. Food hoarding has begun throughout Germany and foreigners are chary of selling to Germany in view of tho debt repudiation. The " News-Chronicle's " Berlin correspondent says that hundreds of tons of Italian and Dutch potatoes are being rushed to Germany, where the shortago is due to abnormally hot weather. Eigid import restrictions are being imposed. The shortage has aroused angry criticism of the Nazi farm-planning scheme.
