BOWLING
PARAPARAUMU CLUB
The second annual meeting of the Paraparaumu Bowling Club was held last week. Mr. T. M. J. Bedding presided over a good attendance.
The annual report and balance-sheet indicated the club's financial position was satisfactory notwithstanding considerable outlays in connection with the ■ improvement of the green.
Reference was made by the chairman to the late president, Colonel A. J. Petherick, and a motion of sympathy and condolence was passed. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. T. M. J. Bedding; vice-president, Mr. A. V. Pctherick; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Geo. Brown; auditor, Mr. J. G. Maclean; committee. Messrs. S. G. Batten, T. Clarke, W. Stewart, D. M. Ryan, A. Hardham, and E. G. Trask;. games committee, Messrs. L. F. Howell and T. Clarke; sole selector and green superintendent, Mr. Geo. Brown. Mr. Earlc MoKe.nzie was reappointed delegate to the centre and Mr. AVm. Stewart was reappointed greenkeeper. The challenge badges were presented by the president to Messrs. L. F. JSowell and R. AY. Maclean. .
The club appreciates the untiring efforts of Mr. L. F. Howelli- who along with willing helpers carried out the' work of topdressing the green,, which should be in good condition by the next opening.
