Invitations have been issued for a private vieAV of the exhibition of sculpture .by Miss Margaret Butler, which will be opened by his Excellency the Governor-General at the Art Gallery, Whitmore Street, on July 18, at 'three in the afternoon. '

Sympathetic Resolutions,
A resolution of sympathy-was passed by the Lower Hutt Borough Council last evening with, the relatives of the late Mrs. Macarthy Eeid, the Mayor (Mr. J. "W. Andrews) revealing for the first time the fact that Mrs. Maeavthy Keid was tho anonymous donor somo years ago of £200 towards the children's play area in Moera.
In acknowledgment of the' good work done- by the late Mrs. 0. E. Dowland as a worker'-in" -several social causes in Lower Hutt, a resolution of sympathy wit.h her' relatives was passed by the Borough Council last, evening^
