SEVEN NEW GUNS

NAVAL BASE EQUIPMENT

AUCKLAND, July p.

Evidence of the policy of strengthening the equipment of the New Zealand naval base was supplied this morning when seven Gin guns were unloaded fL-onv the lonic. It is understood that further consignments of similar guns will bo scut to the Dominion by the Admiralty to add to the reserve at the Devonport base.

The guns are of the type which in case of emergency could be placed on vessels trading overseas.
