A WEAKER TONE.
Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents dated July 9:—
''The market has developed a weaker tone since the opening. Prices generally are quoted 5 per cent, lower all round, particularly merino and fine crossbreds. The following pi-ices are current:—Merino super 14'/id to 15% d per lb, average ll%d to ]2 5/6 d; fine halfbred, super 56-oS's 12d to 13d. average lOV&d to ll%d; medium super 50-50's lid to IVM; average 9d to 9M>d; extra line crossbred, super 48-50's 7d to 7%d, average G&d to 7d; fine crossbred, super 46-4S's 6%d to 6->4d, average Bd to O'/id; medium, super 44-46's 6d to GVid: average 59id to 6 J/id; coarse super 40-44's 5%d to 6!4d. average SUd'to Cdlow. super 36-40rs 5%d to 6d, average 3d to 5-^d; pieces, 4%d to sd; bellies 4d to 4V 2 d; locks, 3d to 3%d."
