MOTHS AND INSECTS
A proposal, came, .before-the Dominion executive ofths New Zealand Farmers' union today that the Department of Agriculture should be urged to issue illustrated cards of destructive moths {md insects so as to be available for supply to public and other schools interested. The president, Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., said he had already written to the Department on the subject. The reply was that owing to the limited amount of money available and the heavy cost that would be involved in preparing charts, it was not possible to give favourable consideration to the proposal at the present time. Mr. H. 0. Mellsop (Auckland) said lie thought it should bethe business of the Department. At the suggestion of another member, the president said that attention would be given to the question of pamphlets being issued portraying poisonous insects in New Zealand,
