ENCOURAGEMENT OF TREEPLANTINC

The encouragement of tree-planting on a Dominion-wide scale is to be adopted as a plank of the New Zealand Farmers' Union platform. A remit to this eft'ect was passed at a meeting of the Dominion executive today. Another remit, that the Government be asked to appoint additional honorary rangers throughout New, Zealand with a view to preserving bush when such lands arcuntenable for farming, was also carried.
