Kay Kieol. . the Southland heavyweight, was born in that-province 23 years ago. After leaving schpol he decided to become a coalminer, and ho worked in-the Oliai mines for a number of years. He developed - boxin" ability early, and after getting totho forefront as' an amateur heavyweight, he went to Australia and under Davo Smith's care won two preliminary bouts in Sydney. Returning to the Dominion, he was not- long in being recognised as an improved boxer. Under' the Southland Boxing Association Uicol soon became heavy - and light-heavy-weight champion of .the Dominion. Ho has had 24, bouts, has won 21; and has beaten all tho best of his class.1 Not a. particularly hard hitter, he is outstanding for a man of his weight in work and ring smartness, as - "'well as being possessed, of unusual endurance.
