INSPECTION OF FARMS

EQUIPPED WITH^ WADERS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day. A full day will be spent at Enawaro today by the jury in the Bayly doublemurder trial, who left Auckland, shortly after 8.30 a.m., in four ears in charge of the two constables who have guarded them throughout. The party was provided ■ witli a lunch hamper and thigh waders to enable them to make a thorough inspection of the Lakey and Bayly properties adjacent to the swamps.

During his address for tho defenco Mr. Northeroft referred to a number of places to which he invited the jury's special attention, emphasising the view of Bayly's cowshed and Lakey's; wattle tree and paddock to be obtained from other settlers' farms. It is thought probable, therefore, that the jury will visit these other farms as well as spending a lot of time at Lakoy's farm considering the Crown's reconstruction of the crime.

Today is the first fine day this week, so that the jury have been fortuftate in' the weather, but the Euawaro district will still bo sodden after the recent heavy rain. Therefore it is anticipated that the jury will have to do a great deal of walking, as the clay roads may be impassable by tho cars. The jury should arrive at Euawaro about 11 o'clock, and will probably leave again at 4 p.m., as it is beginning to get dark, arriving back in Auckland about 6 p.m. in timo for dinner.
