LOS AKGELES, May 14.

A message from Tucson (Arizona} states that Jean Eobles, the- schoolgirl who was kidnapped and held for a ransom of 15,000 dollars, was found ally* and well tonight and taken home. It is not stated whether the ransom, was paid. ■ The girl was found chained in « cage underground under filthy teondi* tions nine miles from her home. She was weak and emaciated, but mentally] sound. _ William' Gettle, the oil mining mil* lionaire, was found alive in the mountainside community •of La Crescenta,' after being kidnapped for a 75,000----dollar ransom. In a running gun battla one kidnapper was arrested and the other escaped. A New York cable- dated April 27 stated that 1000 officers and citizens of Tucson,- Arizona, were searching for the kidnappers of Jean tEobles, the six-year-old child of a wealthy • Mexican family, who, when returning home from school, was taken by three men in an automobile. Later, a note was delivered to the family demanding 15,000 dollars ransom. The countryside was said to be so enraged that it was feared the kidnappers would be- lynched if caught. - ; Mr. William Gettle was kidnappej from his suburban home' early on May 10. Two masked men entered tha ground during a garden party and compelled him to accompany them. A sub« sequent message, dated May 12, reported a complication of the case, caused by the family's receipt of two ranson demands, one for 75,000 and the -othe for 40,000 dollars.
