The monthly meeting of the _ Sunday School Union was :held last week in th« Johnsonville Methodist ; Sunday School hall.- Mr. A. Gibbs ■ presided, -and theft was a good attendance. - ' '.-..•■■>. ■
The representative of the-union at ih# annual meeting of the ■ Bible-in-Schoola League submitted a, report, on the businesj transacted. : " '
After discussion it was resolved that th« question ■of appointing a Sunday sch'oo! delegate on the-executive committee of -th«. league be considered next meeting. ■ A report submitted stated that the eastern suburbs rally committee had-decided again to act in arranging a prize distribution gathering this year; also that a reunion of teachers would be held' on May 20. .. .
A district teachers' training class was proposed. . : ■'. '•
An invitation was received from tha youth committee of' the 'Presbyterian Church for teachers of other denominations interested to attend meetings of the Youth Workers' Institute' to be held between May 14 and 23. ■ : ■ > Preliminary plans were decided upon for i-a president's reception to be held early, in July. : :■■ *■-.'■ -
The Rev. J. p. Martin gave an' address on "A Minister's Observations of the'Sanday School." A discussion followed...',' Refreshments were provided by the local teachers, Who were thanked by the visiting delegates.. , . >- . ■
The Jiower Hutt Borough Council gave its-approval last evening! to the following nominations for ; the Moera community hall committee for the ensuing year:—Handel, block,, Messrs, Sutherland and Grbome; Eglinton^block,Messrs. Keene and Bramleyjand Awamutu block, Messrs. Goifin and Burns,
