Only a bare: quorum of four members was present, and the meeting .carried by,three votes to one,a. motion that no further action, be taken. .
In the discussion itwa's suggested that the perpetrator. had had a good deal of punishment already, from h'ia fellow students; that the facts might not be held to justify a. conviction; and that the society would -have' th,e es^ pense of bringing the perpetrator from Auckland to no purpose. Also, action might appear vindictive after such;a lapse of time. '."".'■- '.
