HARRIERS
-. About, thirty runners took part in a friendly run held by the Mastertbn Harrier Club on Saturday over eight miles of flat country. A solid pace wa9 set from the start, and the runners soon became strung I out.. Latecomers were penalised by having to set "off on the long journey in twos and threes, after the main pack had gone. Talbot was first man home, covering ; the distance in well under an hour. KIATERE CLUB. There was an attendance of 28 runners for outings held by the Kiatore (Masterton) Harrier Club. The junior members ran_ over a course of three miles and the seniors did six miles over an excellent course, laid by J, Carter. The senior runners were divided into two packs, the novices Jbeing sent off some minutes before j the main pack. The weather was warm and quite a strenuous rim was made of the outinc. L. Fitzgerald showed marked improvement, as did T. Laing. The novices were unfortunate in losing the trail, and as a result did not do the six miles. Much i promise is shown by these new runners, j and quite an interesting contest is anticipated next Saturday when the novices' race is to bo held.
