Mrs. Nelson, Pahiatua, is staying with her sister, Mrs. H. M. Goro, Hobson Crescent. Mrs. G. F. Stone, Eoxburgh Street, has left for a brief visit to Nelson. Mr. _J. F. Mills and Dr. Platts-Mills, Karon, will leave shortly for an extcjuletl visit to . England. Their son, Mr. John Platts-Mills, and daughter, Dr. Adah Platts-Mills, are resident in London. / ■ Miss Diana Harris, who has been staying with Mrs. J. Vogel, Lower Hutt, will leave by the Wanganolla on May 25, en route for Cairo. Miss Sheelagh Sadlior, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. D. E. Hanson, Opawa. Mrs. C. H. Treadwoll, Lower Hutt, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. \Y. H. Dickens and Miss M. Dickens, ■Wellington, are visiting: Auckland. ' Mrs. A. Miss Rita Hammond, Blenheim,1 is visiting Wellington. . Miss Beryl Pcrkin, England, who has been staying with Dr. and Mrs. J. P. Bennett, Blenheim, is at present in Wellington. Mrs. W. H. Clarke, Wellington, is visiting Auckland. The Misses H. and M. Bishop, who have spent the past two months in Wellington, returned-to their :liomo : in Christchurch last ■■•week. Mrs. E. M. Iloddor, Wellington, la visiting Auckland. .• / ■••... Nurse Anstice '-■ has taken up her duties as district nurse at Lower Hutt. Her headquarters are Feist's Building, which is at the corner of. High Street and Woburn Eoad. The engagement is announced between the Rev. Arthur Gregory Kayll, chaplain, E.A.F., eldest son of the Bey.Canon J. L. A. Kayll, Waihi, and Elizabeth Josephine, youngest daughter of the late Charles Hall Feilden and Mrs. Irene Feildcn, and adopted daughter of Mr> and Mrs. Theo'. Feilden, Stratford Lodge, Watford, Hertfordshire. ■ . '; ■ ■ ■:,, The- engagement 'is announced between Michael Valentine, -youngest son of the- late Major Valentino Fleming, D.5.0., M.P., and of Mrs. Valentine Fleming of. 118 Cheyne Walk, and Letitia Blanche, elder daughter of the Hon. Algernon and Mrs. Borthwick, of Woodcote Hoiise, Oxon, and 8 Cadogan Square. Mrs. , Borthwick was formerly Miss Gorrie, of Auckland.

Mrs. E. Carter .(Auckland) is on a few months' tour. During her travels (fiho is interesting herself in matters of an educational nature, and the introductions which she brought from the Auckland Education Board are giving her tho desired facilities. In Vancouver, Chicago, and Washington she found considerable interest, and she was.fortunate in being able to attend two sessions of tho Senate at Washington. Her brother, Mr. Frank Wheeler, for a number of years the well-known headmaster of the Chiswick: Senior School, recently retired. After three weeks in Englandj Mrs. Carter will leave for a Continental tour, joining at Naples' one of the Italian liners for Australia,' .She anticipates being in Auckland by the middle of July. ; "■'/■ ;■ ••• •■
