. ••■V-- SYDXEY, May 14. -Che Sydney wool sales were resumed' today. Competition was fairly general, mainly on German and French account. There -was good' support from Yorkshire on suitable'lines, and a moderate demand from Japan. ■Compared -with, the closing sales at the beginning of March, good bulk}' combing wools" were 7% to 10 per cent, lower; average fleece and skirtings, about 15 to 20 per cent, lower; inferior and faulty sorts,; for which ■ competition was very irregular, were'from 20 to 25 per cent, below the March Sydney levels. Greasy merino; made, to 23d.
The ; offerings ■ totalled 12,077 bales, of which. 7053. were sold at auction; also 1817 bales privately..
