~. . . KARACHI, May 14. Minor engine repairs, performed by the Royal Air Force at Basra, delayed Miss Batten, otherwise she might have equalled, Miss Amy Johnson's
record of 5J days to Karachi. . Miss Batten achieved the record for the first direct flight to Cyprus/in two days seven hours for 1670 miles oversea, the longest lap of which was from Athens to Cyprus, 620 miles. •.'
Miss Batten will endeavour to reach Australia in twelve days. This will necessitate average flying of .twelve hours daily; !
