FAMOUS RADIO COMEDIAN

LONDON, May 14. ■ John Henry, the famous comedian, was found-with his head in a gas oven in Kensington, with six letters nearby. This -was the pathetic end of a man who was the first comedian to mould his personality to suit the. microphone. Ho became famous in a night as the man who makes millions laugh. Recently he had done more music-hall work than broadcasting, but he staged a promising come-back to broadcasting early m the year. Finally, frightened by publicity arising from Court proceedings by his wife, he decided on suicide. His troubles were accentuated by the death of Gladys Horridge a few weeks ago, with whom he was long associated as "Blossom."
The. comedian's real name was Norman xnapha'm, • find he was found dead at his t home. He was recently sued for maintenance by his wife, who- alleged that while in Australia and New Zealand Clapham sent-her nothing
John Henry -was a prominent Yorkshire comedian who appeared with his stage partner, Gladys Horridge. He did not achieve a great deal of success on the boards,' but made an immediate appeal when ho began to make gramophone records, becoming a best-seller.
