SHEEP SELLING READILY,

Wright,. Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report—At the Carterton sale on Friday we submitted heavy yardiugs of pigs and cattle and several pens of sheep to a large attendance. Sheep sold readily at prices in advance of recent sales: Pigs also made good values, particulaily weaners aud stores, which sold above venders' expectatfous. A keen demand exists for springing cows and heifers, but store cattle are saleable .only at reduced values, no doubt a reflection of tho lower export prices offering. A clearance-was effected at the following prices:—Sheep: Fwd. w.f. lambs, 17s 4d to 17s 6d; empty ewes, Bs, 10s, to 12s; ewes,' r.w. 5.D.,, 12s 6d. Cattle: Springing cows, £4 7s Gd, £4 12s Od, £4 los; to £5; spg. heifers, £3, £3 ss, £3 7s 6d, to £3 10s; cows just calved, £4 10s, £4 ,15s, £4 17s 6d, -to £5 2s Od; heifers, r.w.b., £1 lls, £1 16s,'to'£l 19s; empty yearling heifers, 35s to 375; cows in milk, due factory dates, 30s, 32s Od, 355, 37s 6d, to 38s; weaner heifers, 12s Cd, las, 16s; fat cows (dairy), £2, £2 ss, £2 7s Gd, £2 10s, to £2 15s; fwd. empty cows, 2js, 27s 6d, 30s, 325, to 345; store cows, 17s Gd, 18s-fid,, 20s, to 22s 6d; potter bulls, 365, 375, £2, to £2 10s.
