PROTECTION SOCIETY
A great deal of business came before the committee of the Society for the Protection of Women and. .Children at the fortnightly meeting. The reports of the members who had taken charge in the office during the holiday recess of the secretary showed that .the work had been well done, the cases fol; lowed up promptly, efficiently, anil kindly.' Thanks were accorded to those who had done this work and also attended the Monday Courts.
Votes of congratulation and:pleasure were passed to Miss 0. E. Kirk;. J.P., and 1,0 Mrs. Fordo (secretary and committee member of the society'respectively), on having been elected as president and hon. secretary of the Dominion. JJ.C.W. respectively. \
U A number of cases .were dealt with |and plans .were made for assistance: in fa. number of directions. ■ ■ ."
'Sincere thanks were given to ■ Mrs. O'Shea .and all • the friends who attended the bridge -party at her Home, the excellent result of the party being £8 iOs for the funds of the society. Tho Two-Garment. Society -vy-as thanked for a generous donation of, clothing. So many necessitous cases como before the society that tho garments can be very well bestowed.
Arrangements "were made for the hospital visitors on the dates forwarded to the society.
