ARBITRATION COURT
TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT
Since the appointment of Mr. Justice Frazer, President of the Arbitration Court, as chairman of the Royal Commission on the dairying industry, complaint has been made that the work of the Arbitration Court is being unduly delayed, especially so far as compensation cases are concerned. The point was raised with the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) today, and Mr. Forbes indicated'that the Government was considering making a temporary appointment to the Court in order to facilitate the hearing of compensation claims. ' ■ : j
On a previous occasion, when Mr. Justice Frazer was absent from New Zealand, Mr. Justice Blair, of the Supreme Court Bench, acted in his stead, and it is likely that a similar course will be followed in the present instance.
