MYSTERIOUS RUINS
The South African Government has had a film taken of the mysterious ruins of Zimbabwe, Ehodesia, in an attempt to throw further light on this dead city, believed to have been the goldfiekl of the ancient world and the reputed source of King Solomon's wealth. The secret of King Solomon's gold has never been disclosed, but it is estimated that 3000 years ago £.150,000,000 worth of gold was removed from the Zimbabwe mines and carried to au unknown destination outside Africa. A certain number of articles made of pure gold have been found in the ruins, and remarkable drawings adorn some of the walls of the palaces. The film gives a realistic idea of the weird atmosphere of the ruins, and immense height of the buildings, and the skill of the ancient designers and builders. There aro three principal sections of Zimbabwe as seen today—tho great templo in the valley with its curious towers and various evidences of sun worship; tho extensive area of stone ruins; and the remarkable fortress on the top of the great granite hill.
