BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY.
An entertainment* of outstanding merit was given at the rooms of the "British bailors bocicty on Thursday to n very large ftnrl enthusiastic audience of seameii and friends. The programme was arranged by Misses Dovotliy Spinks and ■ A'lolet Roberts, and consisted of son<«= elocutionary numbers, dances, instrument il and novelty items. One item that was especially encored was tho Maori =oii"s by Mr. Jenkins. There was a short community sins at the conclusion. Items were contributed by 'Misses Gladys Webb' Dorothy Seymour. Gwen Jenkins Meryl Daniels, May Hymn, Violet Roberts, \nleska Jenkins, Turner,1 and Madame Adair, Messrs. Osborne, Edlin, Soal .Seaton, Jenkins, Lovalt, and Master .Jenkins. Miss Dorothy Spinlj s w ' us the accompanist. At the conclusion a vote of thanks was "curried -with acclamation, supper was served by the young ladies of tho .society, and tlie evening was brought to a close with the sinking of "God Sane the Kin;;."
