ACCIDENTS IN BRITAIN
THE OFFICIAL RETURN
An increase of 10,413 in the. number of persons killed or injured on tlio roads of Great Britain during 1933 as a result of accidents caused by vehicles and horses is shown in the official re-1 turn for the year. Of tho 7202 killed in Great Britain 2167 were attributed to private cars, compared with 1914 tho previous year; to motor-vans, lorries, etc., 1438, against 1346. Solo motor-cycles, killed 940 (against 995), solo motor-cycles with pillion passenger 551 (against 544), and motor-cycles with sidecar 221 (against 194); motor-omnibuses and coaches 566 (against 591), electric tramcars and trolley buses 109 (agahrst 87), and cabs 74 (the same). Of tho 216,328 injured 72,378 were attributed to private cars, agaiust 68,523 the previous year; to motor-vans, lorries, etc., 28,950 (26.205); to motorcycles (solo, without pillion passenger), 27,186 (30,045), with' pillion passenger, 12,798 (14,355), with sidecar, 7458 (7587); to motor-oninibuses and coaches, 9690 (9672); to tiamears mid trolley buses, 4297 (4368); to cabs, 2140 (2162). •..
