DEPARTURE FROM SYDNEY
NEARLY AN ACCIDENT
Doited Press Association—By Electric Tele- I eraph—Copjrlsht(Keccived May 12, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. I Jlr. C. T. P. Ulm left in the Faith in Australia at 9.40 last night for New Zealand. The weather was fine, with a cloudless night and little wind. • Immediately after Mr. 'Ulm left Richmond aerodrome tho lights in the aerodrome failed. Subsequent investigations showed that tho electric light wires which convey current to the aerodrome were broken. It is believed that tho Faith in Australia came in contact with them. The spectators saw a vivid flash as the machine rose. Apparently the Ulm party narrowly escaped disaster.
