CABINET DISCUSSION

BRITAIN STILL HOPES

LONDON, May 10,

Cabinet again discussed disarmament. The "Daily Herald's" political correspondent says that Mr. Ramsay MacDonald expressed himself strongly about isolationist propaganda outside Cabinet and .demanded that "sniping" should cease.

The "Daily Telegraph" learns that Cabinet has definitely reached the conclusion that it cannot place any fresh proposals before the conference on May 2D. It fully recognises the difficulty that may possibly be experienced in keeping the disarmament talks alive, but it feels that.failure cannot be envisaged while the Powers are still meeting. The British delegation will examine all suggestions and approve of the.discussion if it holds hope of the slightest advance towards agreement.
