CHINESE MISSION
The second meeting of the Chinese United Christian Mission was held on Wednesday evening at the Alexandra Hall, Abel Smith Street, and notwithstanding the unfavourable weather conditions a congregation of forty Chinese and {Europeans attended. The' service was conducted by' Mr. F. Williams, missioner, o£ Auckland, and the Rev; W. Chan, formerly of Dunedin, who, with the Rev.; A. Don, founded, the Chinese Presbyterian Church of :Otago forty years ago. ,A very pleasant and profitable evening was enjoyed and conducted with -supper served by the ladies of the mission. These meetings will be held every Wednesday evening at 7.30 o'clock. Mr. Williams, who has been engaged for a period of over thirteen years in philanthropic and social work among the "down-and-outs" at Auckland, has instituted a mission at Wellington, and the second meeting will be held at the Alexandra Hall on Friday evening at 7.30 o'clock. Supper will be served, and bed and meal tickets will be issued to the needy. A hearty welcome is extended to all interested. Messrs. Williams and Chan, jun., will give an address to the congregation of the Congregational Church, Constable Street, on Sunday evening.
