Recipe Wanted,
A correspondent asks for 'a good recipe for marmalade made with giant lemons. Levin Home Meeting. Miss Archibald ' presided at the j monthly meeting of the Levin Memor- ■ ial Home committee, when there was a good attendance of members. The twenty-four inmates of the home were reported to be in good health. The I committee thanked the following donors: Mr. Yates, Hawke's Bay Fisheries; Mr. Elliott, St. Matthew's G.F.S., Mrs. E. Luke, Mrs. -Patteson; a Friend the Smith Family Joyspreaders, Miss Knowles. St. Augustine's Croquet Club.. A very enjoyable closing afternoon was held indoors, owing to the rain, recently, by members of St. Augustine's Croquet Club and their friends. Trophies won during the season were presented by the president, the Rev. G. V. Gerard, as follows:—A grade championship, Mrs. Falder; b grade champion-1 ship, Mrs. Hobbs; C grade champion.--ship, Mrs. May; handicap singles, Mrs. Falder; runner-up, Mrs. Daly. On behalf of members a presentation was made to Mrs. Falder of a handsome candlestick, in appreciation of her services as club captain and secretary. Amongst those present were' the Mayoress (Mrs. McKenzie) and Mrs. Gerard, vice-presidents, and Mesdames Bryan, Ryder, and Jones (foundation members). The competitions won during the afternoon were: Quoits, Mrs. Gerard; ladder, Mrs. Ryder; consolation, Mrs. Benge; putting, Mrs. Gerard and Miss Wale; slogan, Miss Wale. Tho trophies wore donated by Mesdames Bryan, Whitham, and Falder. League of Mothers. Mrs. S. Turner, vice-president, presided at tho monthly meeting of the Wadestown branch of the League of Mothers. There was a good attendance of members. The choir, under Mrs. Turner's leadership, rendered two items which were much enjoyed. ; Mrs. Ernest Dawson was the speaker, and in her interesting way gave a spirited and inspiring address about the ideals of the league, and indicated their application to the'everyday life of members in the home and the upbringing of young people. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
