A charge against Walter Edward Labone, house steward at the Wellington Public Hospital, of laying poison on a place adjacent to a public place, namely, the Ewart Hospital grounds, was dismissed by Mr. W. F. Stilwoll, S.M., in a reserved judgment delivered in the Magistrate's Court today., Tho Magistrate said that the poison, which was for cats, was laid four chains from Coromandel Street, and it would be unreasonable to hold that the charge came within the section under which it was laid.
